Junior Technician

Ref: AH/ 2000260

Location: South Cambs

Salary: £competitive

This is a fantastic opportunity for a young technically minded person to gain experience, new skills and international travel.

Located just to the south of Cambridge, our client designs and builds hi tech equipment used by police and related organisations for uses such as border surveillance and perimeter security type applications. They are looking for a Junior Technician to support the sales and technical team. At any time you may be meeting our client's customers and so you will need to represent the company in a professional and presentable manner. Note that their equipment is typically installed in remote locations and often on the top of masts.

The job will require reasonable communication skills in order to coordinate the movement of equipment and help with demonstrations.

A UK driving licence is highly desirable to allow you to provide off-site support to the team.

  • Capable of being involved in occasional lifting/movement of equipment that might weigh in excess of 25kgs
  • A willingness and capability to travel overseas

Beneficial capabilities:

  • Degree in science or engineering
  • Soldering ability
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • Speak a foreign language
