CLIENTS There are thousands upon thousands of recruitment agencies operating in the UK today, and you’re supposed to choose between them. That’s not an easy task. One means of separating one from another is on fees. Questor has one standard fee only, and it hasn’t changed since we were established in 1984. 20% of basic starting salary. Some agencies operate a sliding scale of payment, such that more senior positions are chargeable at 25 or even 30% of starting salary. We apply the same level of our expertise to every level of position you’re looking to fill, so why charge more for doing exactly the same job? Equally we’ve not responded to troughs and peaks in the IT recruitment marketplace by altering our fees to take advantage. Our consultants have a technical background, all the better to understand your technical environment, and therefore have the ability to evaluate candidates’ suitability. We’re so confident that we’ll never send you a technically inappropriate CV that we even offer a guarantee. If we send you the CV of a candidate who lacks the main technical skills required for a position (discounting any instances agreed upon between you and us through additional discussion, due to other exceptional skills), then we will give you a 50% reduction in our fee on your next new vacancy. Obviously we wouldn’t still be in business after all this time, if this happened on a regular basis…so it should offer some peace of mind. We build relationships, we don’t do sales. So not only will we ensure we have a good handle on your line of business, we’ll try to get a feel for the personality make-up of your teams. Introducing the wrong type of person can have a devastating effect on a well-oiled team, so we aim to get to the stage where we can assess suitability in character terms. You can be assured that we’re not using selling techniques to talk people into considering your company, or taking up offers. If we place someone with you, and they leave within months, not only might their career be harmed, but your trust in us will be damaged as well. That’s why we try to ensure that only people who are genuinely excited by the prospect of working with you are submitted. We can also offer pre-interview referencing, psychometric assessment, press advertising and agency management services. Pre-Interview Referencing On request we can talk to previous employers of candidates before they are interviewed by you. Where possible we try to talk to line managers in order to gauge levels of technical expertise and team-working skills. We make no additional charge for this service. Psychometric Assessment We work with a qualified and reputable psychologist to carry out psychometric testing exercises designed to assess an applicant’s responses to situations, workloads, personalities and more. This can prove a useful tool to supplement your own interviews in selecting the right person for your position. Press Advertising We can take advantage of discounted rates with national, local and specialist press to carry out advertising for you, and pass that financial saving back on. The ad would still identified by your unique brand, but we’d be taking away the arduous task of sorting through countless CVs and agency enquiries, carrying out initial assessments, and finally presenting you with a final cut which makes the grade. We can take an advert of your own creation, or liaise with our preferred copywriting firm to create a bespoke and magnetic piece to draw in a greater response. Agency Management You’re doubtless inundated with cold calls, emails and letters from agencies you’ve never heard of, you’ve heard bad things about, or whose niche areas don’t match your own. You may well operate a preferred supplier list, perhaps in several tiers. There has to be a way of reducing the vast number of electronic CVs through which you have to wade, a way of avoiding being bludgeoned into oblivion by a never-ending stream of agency calls. That way is agency management. Effectively you’d be outsourcing your first and second phase recruitment. You’d be pleasantly shocked at how much time you’d free up for your receptionists, HR personnel and technical staff alike by deferring initial contact to a company whose sole purpose is to do that job. All those man-hours a week would be regained, enabling you to take the calls that matter. Instead we’ll compile a preferred supplier list, taking into account your recommendations and experiences, handle all independent and agency applications, interview, select and present a manageable and suitable shortlist of candidates for each role.

retainer or on a percentage fee, to be discussed depending upon the nature of
